Pharmacological properties

It is cephalosporin antibiotic II generation for parenteral injection. It has bactericidal activity by disrupting synthesis of cell membranes. It has a wide range of actions. It is active against aerobic gram-positive (including strains, resistant to penicillin, excluding methicillin-resistant strains) and other beta-hemolytic streptococci, group B streptococci, gram-positive microorganisms, including strains, resistant to ampicillin, as well as strains that produce and do not produce penicillinase, gram-positive and gram-negative anaerobic microorganisms.


Indications for use

Infectious inflammatory diseases, caused by microorganisms that are sensitive to cefuroxime: respiratory tract infections (including acute and chronic bronchitis, infected bronchiectases, bacterial pneumonia, pulmonary abscess); abdominal and gynecological infections; ENT (ear, nose, throat) infections (including sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis,and otitis media), urinary tract infections (including acute and chronic pyelonephritis, cystitis, and asymptomatic bacteriuria); infections of skin and soft tissue (including cellulitis, erysipelas, and wound infection); bone and joint infections (including osteomyelitis, septic arthritis); sepsis, meningitis, endocarditis, peritonitis, gonorrhea.
Prevention of postoperative infectious complications in surgery of abdominal cavity organs, pelvic organs, heart, lungs, esophagus, blood vessels, and in orthopedic surgery.
